You get a posh looking showroom with nice shiny cars & gleaming tiled floor’s, a telephone receptionist that’s sole job is to take phone calls & direct them to the correct member of staff, a service department receptionist to greet you when you take your vehicle into the dealership for servicing, take down your contact details & then phone you to tell you what extra work needs doing & then take your money off you when you come back to collect your car.
At the back end where the nuts & bolts are they have a workshop foreman to control which technician will work on your vehicle, then you have the technician that will work on your vehicle but which one will it be? The time served master technician that has worked on cars for the relevant franchise for the past 10-20 years, or the trainee technician that has just left school & is still learning his trade?
And then you need to count in the service managers salary & car that needs to be paid for, that is there to make sure the full service department do the job properly!!
